A family image...

A most recent partial family portrait in VA this past weekend. Very different, very harsh and contrasty, very much so what we were going for. The definition of the individuals of the family but not definite detail, which blends and adds to the "we are all separate, but always together" aspect of this particular family on location portrait. Love it dearly.

Who Loves...

Ikea?
We do!!!
We took a trip to Ikea this weekend up in Dale City, what an awesome place! I have never seen such a cool store! These are a few of the items that I picked up while there...
small child's table: $5.99
small child's stools (2): $7.99
finger puppets: $.99
little animals: $1.99
play time fruit basket: $5.99
play sandwich food set: $7.99
These absolutely adorable items will be put to use very soon in my studio and on some on location kids shoots.
Who LOVES Ikea?.... The Mcdumoores!

Growing Up...

Look at us. We have all grown up so much, almost all of us are married, we are almost all in our 20's, we all live in different parts of different states, and we are all still giggly when we are all together, but most importantly no matter how much things change over the years we all still share an extraordinary bond which is FAMILY.
I love you all so dearly.

Beginnings...

This shoot was amazing, and reminded me of why I love doing what I do! I am in love with each of these images, some of them have cool processes on them and others are hardly touched, each one a great memory. Let me know what you think...

Melting day...

I love this shot for it's simplicity and beauty. The melting ice looks like glitter... and anybody who knows me knows I have a thing for glitter! Lol
This image reminds me of a mood. Think about it for a minute and see if you can picture it.
Just one of the many things I love to photograph on a farm. Old wood, log cabin and rusty nails.
 Max my buddy.
I don't know exactly what it is about this image, but I love it.
 Sheets of ice around home.
This door and the walkway to it fascinate me to no end. I could shoot and shoot right there in that very spot. Do you have a spot like that that just holds your imagination captive?
 Ice holes. Bricks. Weeds. Simplicity.
 Me. Two leaves. Plugs. Reflection.
 One of my trees. Shadow.
Melting ice on the wood pile.
Shredded wood... interesting discovery.
My fun today in the melting snow and ice, thank you for sharing it with me.

The Outfits...

This beautiful lady made the outfits that my cousins and I were wearing in my Thanksgiving post.
I bought both my grandmothers batik tablecloths from her shop too. (You can see a tiny corner of it in the post too)
Sweet Nelson waiting for us to get measured.
Nelson then took over my camera to capture the moments of my "sizing" lol.
We went back and picked up all the outfits that night on the way to the airport.
What a beautiful reminder of my Africa trip!
