Last 2...

Last 2 minutes of January 7, 2010...just ordered a ton of pics that have been waiting and waiting to be printed out, touched and loved. I got 20 free prints and 50 prints for $.50! Yay I am so excited about going out to my little mailbox and opening my long awaited prints package! I'll let ya'll know when they get there! Goodbye January 7 HELLO January 8!

VA snow...

The 6'8" snowman that we built at Aunt Dianne and Uncle Frank's house this weekend... we had about 14 inches by the end of the week!

December 8th...

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing...

So the forecast is calling for snow tonight in Aboro... but nothing is happening apart from the extreme drop in temperature.
Blugggggg, I really want some snow!
Just like we need something else to throw into the mix of the next week at school. I will be busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest!
First thing that happened at school this week was the discovery of a bust in the water main to the AE building which houses ALL the photography department stuff (meaning NO processing for the last two projects due by this coming Friday).
Then yesterday there was a gas leak.

Proud Snuggie Owner...

Today I got up early enough to get everything done that I needed to, including making my healthy lunch to take to school. When it was time to go I jumped in the car and started driving to school only to realize over half way there that I had left my lunch at home on the kitchen sink. Since I had left lunch at home I drove back home between classes to pick up my lunch and guess what? While I was putting my stuff back in the car, Kentie comes down the driveway with this box. She is trying to hide it from me and has  this really cheesy grin on her face.... tada she pulls out my brand-spankin-new Snuggie! "Happy Halloween!" she says while laughing at my reaction. What an awesome surprise!

I especially love how there is a huge "Snuggie" label smacked right on the right sleeve... like someone wouldn't know it was a Snuggie! ha

2009 NC STATE FAIR...

This year Mom and I went to see the little pigs race around the track to get themselves some "Cheese puffs"....It was so much fun!
We were not planning on staying till the fireworks, but it just kind of happened.
After several hours of wondering around to find the coolest things to photograph, tradition dictates that Katie gets a frozen banana covered in chocolate and sprinkles and enjoys it all the way to the car.
This is precisely what happened!

Cheater Cheater too....

I copied this from "The Fowler's" blog today because I liked it and think its fun to challenge my mind to think about myself, lol.

Here it goes:

1. What is your current obsession? Email and Facebook...I love to keep up with people!
2. What is your weirdest obsession? Im weird and OCD about lots...I blame it all on 2nd grade.
3. Recall a fond childhood memory? Walks with my Daddy to the railroad tracks way back in the woods behind our house.
4. What's for dinner? Whatever Kentie offers...lol, no just something without gluten in it!
5. What would you eat for your last meal? Whatever Kentie offered. Jk, I would love either a big juicy steak or one of our famous homemade gluten free pizzas.
6. What's the last thing you bought? Crunchy corn tacos from Taco Bell with friends. Does that count?
7. What are you listening to right now? Only the best feel good music ever....John Mayer "Say"....ummm
8. What do you think of the person who tagged you? Well no one actually tagged me...but I stole it from "The Fowler" and I think that she is the best second grade teacher ever and that I still learn things from her even now as a freshman in college. I love her immensely.
9. If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished, anywhere in the world, where would it be? Somewhere where I could have all my family and all my greatest buddies come and stay whenever they wanted. As for the place... ever since seeing Under the Tuscan Sun I have wanted a house in Tuscany. Could I have a private jet too to bring all my above listed people to it?
10. If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go? Back on my Sr. trip with B.
11. Which language do you want to learn? Ever since I've known Ginger Hobgood I've wanted to speak pig latin like her...so maybe pig latin? French too cause I love the accent!
12. What's your favorite quote (for now)? "Sister would you like to join me in my room this night for some toast?", "Jon Jon I need to borrow some sweats.", "for when you go to college...", "it's the hazel nut I know it!"....oh just one?
13. What is your favorite color? Picture wise it's black and white, other wise it must be "outrageous green". lol
14. What is your favorite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe? My XXL Duke sweatshirt hands down!
15. What is your dream job? Something having to do with my photography... I would love to have my own portrait studio, work with special needs kids to write my first photo illustrated book, taking pictures that change lives in amazing ways, have some kind of outside the box business with B when she retires from Wake (not yet sure what that entails yet), and during any of this help people by being the one that does "the little things". We'll see won't we?
16. What's your favorite magazine? I love Elle, I don't fit that magazine but I love the pictures.
17. If you had $100 now, what would you spend it on? Partly on groceries, clothes, other people, and buying the rights to my business name.
18. Describe your personal style? It's not to be described, it's my own...I call it Kt.
19. What are you going to do after this? Drink my sweet tea, wash my face, sit on the couch, then go to bed.
20. What are your favorite films? Well I prefer an SD card, but I am really enjoying 120 film for now.
21. What's your favorite fruit? Pineapple, bananas, strawberries for B, and grapes.
22. What inspires you? Family, my best friend, watching people live their everyday, and the moments that I sit back and think that God created those moments just for me.
23. Your favorite books? Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, Great Expectations, The Scarlet Letter, Dolly Parton: My Life And Other Unfinished Business, and Conversations With My Dog.
24. Do you collect anything? Bottles and bottle caps...glass ones mostly.
25. Any advice from bitter experience? Don't let little things bug you...yell about it a little and then "let it roll." (im still working on this one)
26. What makes you follow a blog? To see what my "think outside of the Katie box" person is gonna unknowingly challenge me to next.

Photograms...

These were due yesterday at 10pm, and we had our first critique today at 8am....very interesting to see what everyone came up with for this first project in our design class. These were "some" of the rejects... although I really like the last one! Im glad I could scan them in for you all to see, the scanning caused the white border for some reason....idk? lol
